[00:00:01] Good afternoon everybody and welcome back to Glow in the Chaos.
[00:00:06] I want to start today by letting you know that Sundays on this podcast are going to be special.
[00:00:12] Every Sunday I'll be sharing a faith based episode, a time to pause, reflect and anchor ourselves in God's word.
[00:00:20] Think of it as a moment of rest and encouragement in the middle of life's chaos.
[00:00:27] Today's verse comes From Matthew, chapter 11, verse 28, where Jesus says, come to me all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.
[00:00:38] I don't know about you, but sometimes the weight of the week feels overwhelming. Whether it's the stress of work, chronic illness, family responsibilities, or just the everyday noise, this verse is a reminder that we don't have to carry it all alone.
[00:00:56] Jesus invites us to come as we are with all the messy, heavy parts of our lives, and he promises rest. Not the kind of rest that comes from a nap or a weekend off, but a deep soul rest that brings peace even in the middle of storms.
[00:01:13] For me, rest doesn't always look like stillness. Some days I'm juggling health, business and family and it feels like the chaos wins. But when I take even a few minutes to open scripture or pray or just to breathe in God's presence, I find myself grounded again.
[00:01:32] That's what Jesus is offering us, a stunning place to land even when the world feels shaky.
[00:01:39] So here's something for you to carry into your week. When you feel weary this week, pause and whisper a simple prayer. Jesus, I come to you.
[00:01:49] Give me rest.
[00:01:51] It doesn't have to be long or fancy. Just a moment of surrender can open the door to peace.
[00:01:57] I want to pray together to close out this episode. It is just a short episode, but originally I wasn't going to include my faith in this podcast. But this podcast is supposed to be a reflection of myself and my journey and I wanted to use it to support other people like myself in their journey. And faith is part of my journey. Faith is what gets me through a lot of these days when I am hurting and I am tired, not just physically, but spirit spiritually.
[00:02:40] So if that's not your thing, that's totally okay.
[00:02:45] That is going to be the theme of our Sunday episodes.
[00:02:49] So that is totally up to you.
[00:02:53] Like I've said before, if I can even reach or help support just one person on this journey of pain and weariness and empower them and give them support in a place where they feel like they can come and be safe, then I believe I have done what I have been called to do so let us pray together.
[00:03:22] Lord, thank you for inviting us to bring our burdens to you. We confess that we try to carry so much on our own and we grow weary.
[00:03:31] Teach us to lay it at your feet. Give us the kind of rest that only you can provide.
[00:03:36] Rest for our bodies, peace for our minds, and healing for our hearts. As we go into this week, help us remember that we're never alone in the chaos. In Jesus name, amen.
[00:03:51] This world is really heavy right now and like we have talked about in previous episodes, stress and heaviness really has.
[00:04:00] It has an effect on everybody, but it has a tremendous effect on those of us with chronic illness as well.
[00:04:09] I notice when I get upset about things or get really riled up, really passionate, I can almost guarantee you a couple hours later, I will feel it in my entire body.
[00:04:22] So I am praying for peace. I am praying for patience. I am praying for understanding and the things that I cannot understand.
[00:04:32] I'm praying for the Lord to soften my heart and soften my delivery of how I.
[00:04:43] I'm very. I'm a very passionate person. So when I believe in something so very strongly, I have just that, a very strong way of delivering that message to people. And a lot of times that can do the opposite of what I'm trying to do and it can turn people away.
[00:05:01] So I am praying that the Lord softens my delivery.
[00:05:06] I want nothing more than for people to see the image of God in me just through my daily actions.
[00:05:19] They say that you can tell a good tree by its fruit.
[00:05:25] A good tree bears good fruit.
[00:05:27] A bad tree cannot bear good fruit.
[00:05:31] So that is my goal. I want the world to see just the light of Jesus shine through me without me even having to use my words.
[00:05:44] I hope that this episode touched you, impacted you in a way that only the Lord can.
[00:05:52] I want to thank you for joining me for this first Sunday faith episode of Glow in the Chaos.
[00:05:57] Remember, every Sunday we will pause here for encouragement from God's word. I hope today's message helps you find rest and peace as you step into your week. I will see you back here for our next episode and continue to glow in the chaos until then.
